Taiwanese comfort food!

Last Sunday we had an adorable couple from South Asia taking our ló͘-bah-pn̄g (lu rou fan, braised pork belly on rice) set menu class. They have already been to Taiwan many times but this is their first time to join a local cooking class and we are not surprised they chose this well known Taiwanese comfort food dish. Nearly everyone loves its taste and rich fragrance. When topped with a little salty, a little sweet braised pork minceon hot rice, then it becomes the perfect comfort food. We also taught them how to make their own pork meat-balls with radish soup, stir-fried clams with basil, pickled chilli omelette and extra side-dish of pickled cabbage salad in a jar as a take home souvenir. We are glad they enjoyed their first cooking class very much. We hope they will cook those dishes at home and put their own tastes into those dishes.
